Dr Ashar Imam – Psychiatrist

Dr Ashar Imam is an Adult Psychiatrist with special interests in anxiety disorders, recurrent depression and cognitive behaviour therapy for alcohol dependence and substance abuse.

Having worked in the Mental Health Unit of the Toowoomba Hospital for the past nine years, Dr Imam is familiar with the Toowoomba and Darling Downs community.
Dr Imam’s new private practice at St Andrew’s Hospital will be offering services in the areas of:

Adult Psychiatry
Adolescent Psychiatry (from the age of 16 years old)
Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) for major mental illness.

Dr Imam will be admitting patients for private inpatient treatment to the St Andrew’s Hospital 20-bed inpatient ward as required, along with appropriate referrals to the Hospital’s outpatient group program on the topics of Depression, Anxiety and Self Esteem.
